How Curbside works

Curbside turns dispatch's assignment PDF into your run: every stop, every passenger, and their flights, checked while you drive. It never changes dispatch's plan. When a flight moves, it shows what that means beside dispatch's own times.

1 · ONCE

Put it on your Home Screen

iPhone

  1. Open this address in Safari (not another browser).
  2. Tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen.
  3. From then on, open Curbside from its icon.

Android

  1. Open this address in Chrome.
  2. Tap the ⋮ menu, then Install app (or Add to Home screen).
On an iPhone, the icon and a Safari tab keep separate data. Set up your list in the app you opened from the icon, and use that one.
2 · ONCE

Save your list code

Tap START A NEW LIST. Curbside gives you a list code of eight letters and numbers. There are no accounts and no passwords: the code is your list, and it is the only way back to it on a new phone or after this one's data is cleared.

  • Save it right away: SHARE it to your notes or text it to yourself, or COPY it. Then tap SAVED.
  • Settings () shows it any time.
  • On another phone, choose USE THIS CODE and type it in. Both phones then show the same list.
Lose the code and the list is gone: nobody can look it up for you. Don't share it with anyone who shouldn't see your runs.
3 · EVERY SHEET

Import dispatch's sheet

iPhone (Outlook)

  1. Open dispatch's email and tap the PDF.
  2. Tap Share, then Save to Files, and save it.
  3. In Curbside, tap the file icon at the top () and pick the PDF.

Android

  1. Open the PDF from the email, tap Share, then Curbside.
  2. Or save it, then tap the file icon () in Curbside.

Laptop

Open the same address and drop the PDF anywhere on the page.

The sheet is read on your phone. A line under the header says what each file did: a new run, an update, or why a file couldn't be read. Several at once is fine, and with no signal they wait and go when it's back.

When dispatch re-sends a run, import the new sheet: the newest printed copy replaces the older one, and your own corrections stay.

Read a run

One meaning per colour

Brass: here

The stop you're on now, and nothing else.

Blue: a time moved

A flight is running early or late against its schedule.

Red: a problem

Something to check: a flight change that moves your clocks, a number missing from the sheet, or a new sheet that disagrees with your correction.

Green: done

A stop that's behind you, and a passenger you've ticked as messaged.

Violet: Governing Body

A GB passenger: double the margin, and louder alerts.

Two clocks at every airport stop

PARKED AT10:45p

Be in the lot before the first flight lands: 15 minutes before touchdown, 30 for a GB passenger. For a drop-off, it's the check-in deadline: 2 hours before a domestic departure, 3 hours international.

LEAVING11:45p

When you can expect to leave with the last passenger: 45 minutes after landing on a domestic flight, 1 hour 45 international (bags and customs).

Both follow each flight's latest estimate. Dispatch's own times stay on the stop, beside them.

Your corrections

Tap a flight number, a door or a time to correct it, or FIX beside a phone number. Your value is marked as yours and dispatch's stays visible. A passenger who isn't coming stays on the run, greyed out, with an UNDO that never runs out.

Messaging passengers

MESSAGES FOR … on the list is everyone you collect on your next day of runs. WHATSAPP and TEXT open a draft of your own message, filled in for that passenger. Write yours in Settings → MESSAGES: one per kind of trip (the tag on dispatch's sheet picks it), and your name to sign it. For someone travelling alone, Curbside asks once whether it's Brother, Sister or just the name.

A bracket left in the draft, like [FLIGHT], means the sheet didn't say: fill it in before you send. On the day of the run the chat opens empty. Curbside never sends anything, you do, so tick each passenger off yourself.

5 · ON THE FREE PLAN

Flight checks

Curbside runs on a free flight-data plan with a small monthly allowance, so it checks each flight a few times instead of all the time:

  • an arrival: 3 hours and 45 minutes before landing, and 15 minutes after;
  • a departure: once, 3 hours before.

When the month's allowance runs low you'll see “Flight checks running low”: only the check before landing still runs. When it's used up, “Flight checks paused until …”: times are the last check's, or as printed. Confirm a flight on the airline's app or the airport's board before you rely on it.

6 · ANY TIME

Tell us what broke

Settings () → SEND FEEDBACK. Anything helps: something wrong, something confusing, something you wish it did. The most useful notes say what you tapped, what you expected, and what you saw.

Your note goes to the app's owner with the app version, never your list code. Please leave out passengers' names and phone numbers.
